What a great find! Needed lunch while at the Franklin Institute and this was a super quick walk. Went with the family and it was perfect. Had a great table by a huge open window. The gyro platter and sandwich were huge and delicious!! The best gyro meat we've had. The pita and waffle fries were fantastic.
This place is five stars for their gyros and spanakopita. This is more of a "fast" Greek food place - don't try to be super healthy ordering fish, or veggie mixes (even though their falafel is great). I love their pork souvlaki sandwich - it's tasty, delicious - has the Greek French fries on top (yes this is done in Greece), and the absolute must and best is their custom moustaki sauce! My favorite thing about their gyro is that sauce. One other thing that is amazing is their avgolemono soup! I ordered it plenty of times. It is perfect for the winter weather. Like I said this place has amazing gyros - it mimics the fast Greek food places in Greece - don't try to be super healthy Mediterranean, enjoy a gyro!
Just tried the chicken gyro tonight. DELICIOUS! It's on a corner that I hadn't paid much attention to but stumbled upon it and gave it a go. My boyfriend tried the chicken spicy feta gyro and also loved it. Definitely going to become a go to spot. Only request is more tzatziki!
After a vacation to Greece, Pete and his wife Trish enjoyed the local flavors of Athens and particularly the Gyros. Pete grew up spending his summers in Greece and always enjoyed grabbing Gyros from the local shops. In Greece a gyro is like a hot dog or burger in the States; they are accessible everywhere. Back home in Philadelphia Pete and Trish noticed there were Greek restaurants, but nothing like they had experienced in Greece with fast casual Gyro’s. Pete and Trish had the vision and desire to bring the Authentic Gyro experience they had in Greece to Philadelphia.
A Philadelphian with a passion for people and community, Pete is the owner and Operator of Pete’s Famous Pizza and Moustaki Authentic Gyros. In 2009 Pete took over his Family’s Business and turned it into a Philadelphia Pizza Powerhouse. Pete scaled the delivery and catering aspect of the business from 10-15 orders per day to 100+. Pete was featured on the Food Network’s show $24 in 24 for his Meatball Stromboli. In 2017 Pete acquired the competing pizzeria in the Logan Square neighborhood and created Moustaki Authentic Gyros. Moustaki is the only place in Philadelphia to get authentic Greek Gyros. He was able to use both stores to leverage catering opportunities and expand the business. In 2020 Pete co founded Workhorse Pizza & Kitchen at Workhorse Brewery. Workhorse Pizza & Kitchen was in charge of the day to day food program at the brewery as well as catering for large corporate events and weddings. In 2022 Pete co founded Brotherly Love Ice Cream Truck which offers catering in the warmer months. 2022 Pete co founded the third Pete’s Famous Pizza location in South Philadelphia.
An active member of the Logan Square community, Pete is on the board of Friends of Coxe Park, as he often raises money to improve the conditions of the local Park. Pete also donates pizza and volunteers to soup kitchens to help feed the homeless. Pete has a BA in Business Management and Marketing from Widener University. He was a member of the varsity Cross Country and Track Team where he ran the steeplechase and distance.
A veteran of the restaurant industry, one can say he was born for it. He and his family owned a well established diner in the Fishtown, Philadelphia area. In 2006, upon graduating from Roman Catholic High School, Gus took over his Family’s Diner, New Acropolis, until 2011 when Gus ventured out on his own to experience the hospitality industry outside of his family. While they owned the diner they donated 600 breakfast meals for people involved in the toy drive for the Centurions Christmas in July Event. For Four Years he successfully managed Minella’s Diner, a Main Line staple. In 2015 Gus was offered the position of General Manager of The Grog Grill and Westgate Pub where he oversaw day to day operations and learned a lot about the bar business. In 2016 Gus a long time friendship became a power duo when he joined forces with Pete Kada to manage his Pizza Restaurants Pete’s Famous Pizza. Together they developed an extensive delivery program that specialized in office catering and extended the delivery zone to cover all of center city and most of South Philly. In 2017 he was an intricate part of the creation of Moustaki Authentic Gyros as they successfully acquired the competing Pizzeria in the area. In 2020 Gus co founded Workhorse Pizza & Kitchen at Workhorse Brewery. Workhorse Pizza & Kitchen was in charge of the day to day food program at the brewery as well as catering for large corporate events and weddings. In addition to the restaurant business, Gus is an avid sports fan. In his free time he enjoys lifting weights and spending time with his wife and kids.

As Creative Director, Brigid is responsible for the online and print marketing materials for both Pete’s Famous Pizza and Moustaki Authentic Gyros. Brigid earned her B.A. degree in Visual Communication Design from the University of Notre Dame and her M.S.W degree from Temple University. She works full time as an executive assistant for a local nonprofit and gets her creative fix by providing design services for a few other small businesses when not chasing around her two kids.
Chad Bickle, Certified Franchise Consultant (CFC) and IFPG member is our Regional Vice President. Chad Bickle has a deep background in Franchise Development, Sales, and Training. Chad’s background is that of numerous achievements on the Franchisor and Franchisee side of franchising. As the former National Director of Sales for 26 Franchised Sears Hometown & Outlet Store locations to Vice President of Franchise Development for BirthdayPak; Chad was responsible for Franchise Development and Sales. Chad Bickle currently heads up the Franchise Development Department for the Philadelphia Iconic Santucci’s Pizza; making them one of the fastest growing Philadelphia fast casual restaurant franchise brands to come out of the Tri-State region in decades. Chad leverages his arsenal of franchise experience to train, educate, develop, and grow emerging franchise brands.
